Now that we have had our first impression of the new Dungeons & Dragons Ruleset with the release of the Starter Set, it is time to look forward again. On the 19th of August, we will witness the release of the new Player's Handbook.
The Player's Handbook has always been the quintessential release for every new edition of D&D, covering character creation and advancement, backgrounds and skills, exploration and combat, equipment, spells, and much more.
If you want an early look at the rules, you can always download the free 100-page booklet with basic rules on the WotC-site. This online pdf describes the core rules and outlines the four main classes: Cleric, Fighter, Rogue and Wizard.
For aspiring Dungeon Masters amongst you: the first full-fledged Forgotten Realms Adventure, Hoard of the Dragon Queen, will come out on the same day as the Player's Handbook.
