Hearthstone is making waves in Outpost Ghent as they are busy organizing the biggest organized play event we've ever held for Hearthstone in an Outpost: The Hearthstone Cup!

Garrosh in a suitSure we've had many laughs around the Fireside, and if you're an Outpost regular you might have done a tournament or two during our Community Days ... but this event goes way, way beyond that!

One could even say it is bigger than Garrosh's ego!

The Hearthstone Cup is the very first, very official collaboration event between Outpost Ghent and Hyperstorm. As such it boasts an entry fee of 20 Euro, but this goes straight to the prize pool.

This means that, depending on attendence, players could win between 320 to 600 Euro in prizes!

(That's a LOT of Hearthstone packs let me tell you.)

Speaking of attendance: Kayzr previously held six tournaments in which they handed out tickets for this cup. These winners will be joining us, so rest assured that you will have worthy opponents to battle against.

The tournament format will be Conquest - Standard, which is the official Hearthstone format they use in the World Championships. We'll play a best-of-3 across several Swiss rounds with a cut-off at the top 8. These fine gentlemen/ladies will then play a best-of-5 until only one contestant is left standing!

To enter you will need to register here, as well as fill out 4 decklists for the decks you will be playing. These will be revealed the day before the competition starts on Saturday 27th. Registration ends on Wednesday 24th at midnight.

As per the rules you can only have one deck for each class. (This means having two Rogue decks is out of the question). Every time you win with a deck it cannot be played anymore during that round.

Win with all your decks to win the round!

As an additional rule one deck will be banned at the start of every match.

You can find a handy overview of all the rules employed during the tournament here.

Lastly let's have a moment of silence for those cards that got hit with nerfs in the latest balance patch.

Rest in Peace oh beloved cards

I'll miss you Mana Wyrm.
