Frontier is the hottest new trend in Magic! Launched in the Far East, the format encompasses each modern-legal set from M15 forward: basically all cards with the newest card frame that were legal in Standard.

Perhaps we could hype up the format a bit with some examples as to what exactly this entails when it comes to deck construction:

-Cards deemed too good for Modern and even Legacy play are perfectly legal. That's right: You can play 4 copies of Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time if you so please!

-Thought Collected Company was broken? Well, now you can add copies of Chord Of Calling to your deck for even more instant speed enter-the-battlefield shenanigans!

-Rabblemaster. Piledriver. Bushwhacker. Need we say more? GOBLINS!!!!

-We have some inside information that Jeskai Ascendancy works really well with certain mechanics in the Shadows Over Innistrad block...

Set legality:

Cards from all regular core sets and expansions since Magic 2015 are legal.

Cards appearing in the Magic Origins sample decks, the Welcome 2016 expansion, or Planeswalker Decks are also legal in the format. However, appearing in the Masterpiece Series does not make a card Frontier-legal.

There is currently no banned list.
