On the 15th of August, we will host another retro tournament in Outpost Antwerp in association with the Outpost Card Game Crew. The tournament will count towards the retro ranking (see below).

Format: Chaos Yata format

Entry Fee: 8,5 €

Participation Prize: 2 Boosters of the latest set

How does the Chaos Yata format work ?

This format is probably the one with the most cards that are currently Forbidden. This era is when Yu-Gi-Oh may have been more widespread than ever, and is one remembered by many veteran players. Mass destruction, avoiding threats and hand control are all key components in this metagame, and it takes a careful play style to emerge as the winner.

Card legality: all boosters up to and including Invasion of Chaos (all cards that were available on April 1st 2004)

Forbidden & Limited List: April 2004 (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/April_2004_Lists)

Rulings: Turn player priority is in effect. (Ignition effects can be activated in the Summon Response Window.) Waboku, despite its older text, will both prevent Battle Damage as well as protecting your Monsters, but will not prevent Effect Damage. Last Will must be activated before a monster is destroyed, and will fully resolve when this has happened. (This can include during the Battle Phase.) The turn player draws on the first turn of the Duel. There can only be one active Field Spell.

What is the Retro Ranking?

This ranking will be held alongside the Constructed Ranking. It will test Duellists’ ability to build a deck and compete in a format that may be unknown to some. To achieve this, we will organize 6 tournaments spread over 2016, after which players receive points. The same scale as the Constructed ranking will be used. (For more info, check www.outpost.be and go to "Rankings")
Since many of the old cards might be out of circulation or hard to find, players are allowed a maximum of 10 proxy cards or OCG cards in their Deck. They must be able to provide a clearly readable print-out of that card.
For all these events, present-day tournament policies will be in effect. (For end-of-round procedures, the tier 2 rules will be used)
