Belgic Magic Gentry Tournament in Outpost Ghent

It's been a while since we've posted a Gentry article. Don't worry though, we're back now.

If you're a frequenter of Outpost Ghent and want to get into Magic the Gathering, but think it's too expensive, you're in luck.

Although they've taken a bit of a break, Belgic Magic is back and that means we're going to see some awesome Gentry-format tournaments again. What are those you ask?

Gentry is a special format in MTG aimed at providing the MTG experience, but at a much lower cost. Usually to be competitive in a standard tournament requires a large investment of specific cards. These are usually quite expensive. By limiting the number of Rares and Mythics to only 4 per deck Gentry formats severely reduce the price of a deck, while also making strategies that require specific costly cards less interesting.

The result is a format that adheres to the standard, but uses cheaper cards and thus often requires different strategies than what we're used to in other formats.

It's a great way for beginner players to get into the game and of course we're always happy to help and teach.
