Outpost Expeditions proudly presents our latest forray into lands unknown: The Grimm Forest. Join us as we embark on a quest to help three cute little piggies avoid the dangers that lurk between the pages of a fairy tale.

Our journey into the Grimm Forest actually begins in a wide open field where several piggies (descendants of the fabled three little pigs) are having a friendly building competition. It seems the world is having a bit of a housing problem and the pigs are happy to resolve this by building either straw, wood, or brick houses. Whoever builds three of these first wins!

In order to gather the materials for their quest they need to brave the sunny wheat fields, the shadowy forest or the sweltering brickworks. And while there they may be ambushed by foes such as their long time nemesis: The Big Bad Wolf. Best keep those axes at the ready!

Furthermore if two piggus (Japanese for Pig*) enter a location together they have to share that location's resources, putting them at a disadvantage against whoever enters a place alone.

Luckily there are plenty of forces of good more than willing to help our friends. Fairy tale characters such as Cinderella, Snow White, and Robin Hood provide helpful bonusses whenever they appear!

The Big Bad Wolf

All in all the Grimm Forest is an amazingly beautiful game with an enchanting fairy tale theme. It combines elements of resource gathering (to build houses) with those of deduction as you play cards to mess with your opponent by sending all kinds of stuff from wolves to enchanted frogs after them.

The game is very kind though as no negative effect is really that disastrous and the game has plenty of mechanics to get players who lag behind back into first place.

A playthrough lasts about 45 to 60 minutes making it a short to medium game that's easy to pick up and fun enough to play with anyone from kids to adults. There is plenty of back-and-forth play to keep things interesting even for more mature players.

Additionally we're only selling the Kickstarter Edition for now. Which means that if you purchase the game now you get a TON of extra stuff such as a dragon miniature, extra playmats, and more friends and fable cards featuring even more fairy tale characters such as the Little Mermaid (who is actually a Hans Christian Andersen invention, but we're still happy she's included).
