The first Planechase release dates back to 2009. The idea behind the set was the planeswalking experience, where players took on the role of a planeswalker and explored the various planes of existence. The new Planechase 2012 Edition, to be released early june, promises a new twist to this very unique format.

Each of the new decks features a ten-card planar deck consisting of eight new plane cards and two new phenomenon cards that are unique to each deck for a total of 32 new planes and 8 new phenomena cards.
